Topic: Tissue damage, inflammation and pancreatic cancer: eventually oncogenic KRAS is not all bad

Andrea Viale

    Dr. Viale has been trained as a clinical oncologist before starting a fulltime career in cancer research. Upon an extensive training in world top labs (Pelicci, DePinho and Draetta), Dr. Viale started his independent research career at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genomic Medicine and a regular faculty member of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. With a strong interest in translational medicine, his main research program is focused on studying pancreatic cancer, however his interests are broad and span from stem cells, metabolism, epigenetic reprogramming and tumor heterogeneity. An important part of his research effort is focused on advancement and development of novel approaches to improve in vivo modeling of human disease.
